The Line on Elvas

Recognizing the changing landscape of food delivery and takeout which accelerated due to COVID associated shutdowns, Sutter Capital Group created The Line on Elvas – Sacramento’s first virtual kitchen project.  The Line, located at 6415 Elvas Avenue, is well located in East Sacramento as it adjacent to Sacramento State University and the growing concentration of new student housing projects in the immediate area and also in proximity to some of Sacramento’s most affluent neighborhoods.

The project will include 11 individual commercial kitchen units with an on-site order and pickup services and will provide space for both restaurant start-ups and established local operators looking to capitalize on the growing food delivery market without the high capital costs of opening a storefront restaurant. Virtual kitchens allow restaurant operators to focus on the food delivery and takeout only business – utilizing channels such as Uber Eats and Door Dash – without the extra labor and operational expenses of a traditional dine-in restaurant format.

Sutter Capital Group partnered on the project with a local construction firm who has significant expertise in off-site prefabrication and is building kitchen units offsite, allowing for a streamlined and cost effective construction and installation process.  The Line is scheduled to open in Q1 of 2022.
